Have you ever visited a new place and felt ‘amazing ’ about it? For many visitors, it happens at Paroda. I felt the same when I visited Paroda.Paroda Village is located in Salcete taluka of South Goa district in Goa, India. It is located 12 KM towards East from District head quarters Margao.
Paroda is a smaller village but beautiful upcoming tourist destination that is worth a visit. You will be surprised by some of the unique things to do and places you can explore at this hidden destination.
You might wish to revisit it someday again, to take a break and relax at Paroda.
In Paroda we have the famous River called Kushavati River. Paroda village is 100% Agricultural land. Paroda village is having 7 temple, one church, one chapel and the most famous temple of this village is Chandeshwar Buthnath Temple, I visited the temple when i was in 10th std with my sister. It is one of the oldest and historical temple in Goa. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is said that Chandreshwar is an incarnation of Lord Shiva and is worshipped as Lord of the Moon. The said point of the temple was identified by the Portuguese Government to control the Arms and Ammunition during their war in 1961, the said temple is taken by Tourism Department.
We have one church that is Immaculate Conception Church at Paroda, the feast is celebrated on 8th December and our Lady of Piety Chapel at Mullem Gudi and Zuze Vaz Chapel at Agramorod Mullem Gudi.Dr. Nevill’s Open Air Hall at Zariwaddo and Lotlikar Nagesh Love forest. In our village we have Damodar Nursing Home and it was run by Dr. K.R. Kamath.
I thereafter went to the village panchayat. My aunt, works at the panchayat, and I met her there. She told me a lot of wonderful things about the village.
Just few distance away from the panchayat is the village bridge
There is a bridge after the paroda panchayat; during the rainy season, the bridge gets filled with water, making life extremely tough for many residents.
When my mother and I visited, she revealed to me that she was born and raised in this village. She took me to her elementary school.
She even took me to her mother's former home.
She described all the recollections from her childhood that she had in this village.
